From our home page you have already learned that Partridge Cabins has a long history, almost as long as Pittsburg itself. The Lodge was a farm house built in 1879 with over 500 acres. Most of the land that was with the farm is now part of the First Connecticut Lake. The establishment went from a farm to cabin rentals. Three of our cabins were part of the C.C.Camps when Roosevelt was President. During the depression, he had to keep people working and because of the WWI, we had cut so many trees down the Conservation Corps first job was replanting. Later, they built roads and dams. Hubbard, Webster and Carlisle are from that time period, but through renovations and tender loving care, they are still a part of Pittsburg and will continue to make wonderful memories for those that stay here at Partridge Cabins.
Merganser Crossing and Otters Cove are original log cabins with hard wood floors and beautiful veneer ceilings. They were built on site in the late 40's. These cabins were built with materials from Ethan Allan which the original Ethan Allan is still making furniture today in Beecher Falls, Vermont.
Finally, let us not forget our newest additions, the Loon and Moose Cabins. These new Cabins were built to delight our guests with their warmth, comfort and views as well as offering a bit more room for stretching, plus a few added amenities. These cabins were built by Cabin Country Builders owner Dan Johnson and completed in February 2003.
We have been serving guest here for over 35 years, and still enjoy seeing people fall in love with the area. Make Partridge Cabins your nest destination.
