Out and About

Now that you have unpacked, you may want to travel around Pittsburg to see why we love this area so much.

When it is Winter, you will get on your sled and ride right from your cabin on a trail system like no other. You can spend a day just riding in Pittsburg and there are places with views beyond compare. (the two pictures)

If you don't have your own sled, don't worry. Either Path Finders Snow Tours at 603-538-7001 or Trail Side at 603-538-5001 will be willing and able to set you up so that you can enjoy Old Man Winter!

Need to find out how the trails are before you check in then check out http://www.pittsburgridgerunners.org They will have up to date information and how many feet of snow we have!

Because we are located on the First Connecticut Lake, you can ride from here earlier and later in the season. Remember this wasn't know as the Last Frontier for nothing! This is where Winter Comes to Play!

Winter isn't the only time to enjoy the back roads and views.
Spring through Fall offers some of the best wildlife, fauna and colors!

If you are up to it, hike Magalloway. There are two routes up, one is easy but takes longer and the other is shorted but much more work. Bob Cat and Coot! Either way, when you reach the top WOW! Enjoy looking at New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine and Canada!

Don't want to hike up! Well how about a small hike down. This will be up when you venture out! Garfield Falls is a great place to see. We have maps right to the Falls here at Partridge Cabins. This place is great on a hot humid day. The air will be cooler and the water is refreshing and clean. If you have a fishing licenses, drop a line. You never know!

East Inlet is a charming place and abundant in wildlife! The best way to see all of East Inlet is by kayak or canoe (this should go to some page the has the prices of boats, canoes and kayak rentals)

Each time one goes there, you see something new and exciting. Canadian Geese, Moose, Bear, Osprey and Deer. Check out the wild flowers too. We have maps of East Inlet and will bring kayaks back and forth if needed.

DON'T FORGET TO BRING YOUR CAMERA!

If you would rather not hike or kayak that is okay too! The Great North Woods has a lot to offer for anyone.

Check out Our Covered Bridges These are a beautiful reminder of days gone by, and remember a couple of these are still in use today!

Antiques something you enjoy searching out, well we have places for that here too! Treats and Treasures has a selection of Antiques and so does the old Moriah's location in the town of Pittsburg. Travel a little further south to Clarksville and you will see the L & L Riverside Antiques. On your way home stop at the Potato Barn in Norththumberland right on Route 3.
